Privacy Policy — The Ranch app

This privacy policy describes how The Ranch (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use The Ranch iOS app and admin web app (collectively, the “Service”).

Who runs this app

The Service is operated by the owners of The Ranch as a private guest-experience tool. Use of the Service is by invitation only and requires admin approval.

Information we collect

When you sign up and use the Service, we collect the following:

• Phone number. Required for sign-in. Verified via SMS through Google Firebase Authentication.
• First and last name. Provided by you during profile setup.
• Profile photo. Provided by you during profile setup, stored in Google Cloud Storage.
• Stay information. Dates of your stay and the room you’re staying in, configured by an admin.
• Guest book notes and photos. Anything you choose to post in the in-app Guest Book.
• Store requests. Items you request from the in-app Store.
• Device push token. A Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token used to deliver push notifications to your device.
• Diagnostic data. Basic technical logs (e.g. authentication errors) automatically captured by Firebase.

We do not collect: location, contacts, calendar, microphone audio, advertising identifiers, or any payment information.

How we use it

• To run the app. Names, phone numbers, photos, and stays are used to power the guest experience and admin features.
• To notify you. Push notifications about your upcoming stay are sent via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• To respond to your requests. Guest book notes and Store requests are visible to admins for the purpose of fulfilling them.
• Other guests can see your name and profile photo while their stay overlaps with yours (in the “Here with you” section of the Guest Book).

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing.

Where it’s stored

All data is stored on Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Firebase Authentication, Firebase Cloud Messaging). Firebase is operated by Google LLC; see https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy for Firebase’s own privacy practices.

A copy of certain admin notifications (e.g. “new guest signed up”) is sent to a Todoist task list operated by Doist Inc. — see https://doist.com/privacy.

Children

The Service is not intended for users under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your choices

• Delete your data. Email the admin and they can permanently remove your user record, profile photo, guest book notes, and store requests.
• Stop receiving push notifications. Disable notifications for the app in iOS Settings.
• Sign out. Use the in-app sign-out option to end your session.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page.
